Run by committees of volunteers, the Corners were free to develop their own programme of events. From People’s Hustings to vigils, people have come together for a common cause or to agree to disagree. In practice the majority of Corners have gone quiet – mostly due to the departure of the originators and the dwindling of the committees.
However, this should not stop a new group of eager volunteers resurrecting the local Corner, and working with the Trust to bring people together in these physical spaces.
